The team of young budding talented athletes were very excited some of which were competing regionally for the first time. The team prepared for this event by participating in a two week intense training camp with Coaches Scyla Murray, Ajaunie Scott and Thaddeus Emile and assistant junior coaches namely Petterson George, Ronaldo St Juste and Latoya Murray.
We congratulate all of the athletes on their outstanding performances, attitudes, fighting spirit and drive. Although Merkisha Justin did not make the main draw, she did not leave the tournament empty handed, she made it to the final in the consolation draw being the finalist after she lost to Guyanese athlete Kimora Erskine. Sanjay Lake made his first regional final where he lost to teammate Denney Estava in 3 sets.
Carrying two crowns at the end of this event, Singles and Doubles U12 Champion, Denney Estava has sealed his name in this tournament's history books. Attaining both singles and doubles titles at a tournament is seldom done by athletes and he has delivered. We are proud of his performance and wish to thank his coaching team, his parents/family and sponsors.
The Club's Head Coach was very impressed with the overall performance of the team and encourages all to continue working towards their goals.
