OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY TEAM ACERS AT SAGICOR TOURNAMENT TTO

Singles girls U12 Champion Bertrand, singles boys U10 finalist Collymore, doubles boys U10 finalist Smith & Felix.

The Acers Tennis Academy was recently represented at the Sagicor Junior Tennis Tournament hosted by the Tennis Patrons Academy in Trinidad & Tobago. The team Chaperone Shernell Lionel and Team Coach Thaddeus Emile was very proud to report that we have won one singles title and 2 finalist awards. 

Samuella Bertrand played 4 singles winning all matches played. SAhe did not drop a set in any of the singles played. She was crowned champion by President of the Tennis Patrons Academy Mr. Robert Ramcharran.

Daniel Collymore contested for the U10 singles title where he made the main draw with ease. He then qualified for his spot in the final where he faced Cruz Thornton and lost in straight sets 4-2 4-1.  

The Acers duo Kimari Felix and Riley Smith teamed up to defeat number one seed in the doubles draw their countrymen Jelani Flermius and Daniel Collymore in three sets. They won the first set 4-2, lost the second 1-4 and won the tie break 10-7. The results came as a surprise to Head Coach as Smith and Felix are the younger and B team registered in the doubles. The team played the finals against a Barbadian and Trinidadian duo losing in straight sets. We are very proud of our juniors performance and encourage them to continue training hard and striving for excellence.
